Chapter 16

Chapter 16 details how to write with your own style, and how to polish that said style so that it is appropriate and easy to understand. First it is to write with style it is good to know that your reader will leave your article or paper if they find it boring, redundant, or the writing makes them generally not want to read it. This means that you should not have any unneeded words or sentences so you avoid any boring or unwanted bits of information. Next you need to throw away any unneeded words, this is said so as to avoid the same circumstances as the first part explained in this summary of chapter 16. For the rest of this section in chapter 16 the book just details what to get rid of so you can avoid what the book calls “Unhappy” readers.  After this section it goes over how to use your voice to help spice up your essay or paper. The type of voice you use will either help sway the reader’s emotions or may be deemed unnecessary and skipped so it is important to understand the use of voice.  It goes without saying that you should choose what you say wisely so you can avoid coming of as racist, sexist, or any other form of ist’s that are bad. Next we learn how to define style by using transitions. A smooth transition can is needed so the paper looks more polished and It stays consistent. Transitions words can be First, on the other hand, or transitional entices. All in all chapter 16 is a good review and source for style.
